HALIFAX (December 31, 2010) - The Queen's Gaels lost 79-63 to host Dalhousie University at the Shoveller Men's Basketball Tournament to close out the 2010 calendar year.
Dan Bannister of Newmarket, Ont.,. and Tim Boyle of Belleville, Ont. were the Gaels top scorers posting 14 points and five rebounds each.
Bernard Burgesson of Port Hawkesbury, N.S. added 11 points in the loss. Burgesson played only 14 minutes.
Queen's got off to a sluggish start with Dalhousie pouring in 32 points while the Gaels countered with 10 points. The Gaels kept pace with Dalhousie the remainder of the game winning each of the next three quarters, but the first quarter deficit was too much to overcome with the final score finishing at 79-63.
Queen's will continue play at the Shoveller Tournament tomorrow at 3:00pm (Atlantic)
