Gaels sink in home pool

Kingston, Ont. (October 4, 2008) – Queen's men's and women's water polo was home to Toronto and Western, today were the men were defeated in two matches while the women' lost one. 

The men started the day off against Western were they were defeated 13-9. The Gaels hung in against Western, but late goals cost the Gaels and Western eventually took the win. In the second match up the Gaels took the pool against Toronto who over powered the Gaels winning a lopsided contest 24-4.

The men's team has not one a game since November 14, 2006 when they defeated the Western Mustangs 15-5. Their losing streak is now at 12 games.

On the women's side, the Gaels only played one match up and that was against the University of Toronto. The Gaels were no match for the Varsity blues falling by a score of 15-5.

The women look to improve and will take the pool next on October 25th. The Gaels are coming off a 3-5 season last year and look to make an impact in the OUA this season. The men also take to the pool on October 25th and will play York and McMaster.
