Kingston, Ontario (November 25, 2008) Returning home from a four game road trip, the women's hockey team struggled to find the offense in a penalty-ridden game, falling 2-0 to the undefeated and defending OUA champions Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks.

Laurier opened the scoring as Candace Kellough of Bolton scored at the 10:42 mark of the first period.

Queen's were unable to take advantage of nine power play opportunities and could only record 14 shots Liz Knox of Stouville, Ont. got the shutout for the Golden Hawks. This is the first time this season the Gaels have not be able to get on the score sheet.

Melissa John of Unionville, Ont. tried to keep the Gaels chances alive as she stopped 37 shots and kept Laurier without a power play goal on six chances.

Penalties were common for both teams, with the Gaels committing 22 penalty minutes while Laurier committed 18.

With the loss the Gaels move to 3-2 on the season while Laurier improves to 5-0 and leads the OUA.

Queen's will be host Waterloo tomorrow at the Kingston Memorial Centre, puck drop is at 2:30 PM.

Note: Queen's Elizabeth Kench of Gananoque, Ont. earned a 10-minute misconduct late in the third to increase the Gaels penalty minutes to 22.
