Former Gael earns CFL honours

October 1, 2008 - TORONTO, Ont. - Former Queen's Gaels receiver Rob Bagg had a breakout game with the CFL's Saskatchewan Roughriders last Sunday, and his efforts earned him the league's Canadian Player of the Week award.

Bagg made six receptions for a league-high 146 yards in Saskatchewan's 37-12 loss to the Montreal Alouettes. Bagg made receptions of 72 and 49 yards.

Bagg has caught 14 passes for 218 yards with a long of 72 in his first professional season. He was a member of the Gaels from 2003 to 2007. He was second in OUA in receiving yards last year with 36 catches for 804 yards and six touchdowns.

On Oct. 20, 2007 against the Toronto Varsity Blues, Bagg recorded a near-OUA record 341 receiving yards, falling just 36 yards short of the single-game mark.
