The OUA has implemented a new Code of Conduct and Ethics (Code), and related policies, that is applicable to all student-athletes, coaches, participants, and intuitions. These new policies carry new requirements for all participants in the OUA and for student-athletes and coaches, this includes new automatic sanctions for in-game infractions.  Under the new policies, the OUA can impose discipline in addition to non-academic conduct sanctions that may be applied for a violation of the Queen’s Student-Athlete Guidelines for Behaviour.  Please take the time to familiarize yourself with the policy and related documents.

The purposes of the OUA Code is to;
  • To provide the broad principles and values which have been endorsed by the OUA membership, to which OUA Members, Participants, Coaches, and Administrators are expected to subscribe and conduct themselves accordingly.
  • To reinforce the principle that being a Member, Administrator, Participant or Coach in the OUA brings responsibility, accountability, and consequences for breaches of expected levels of conduct.
  • To ensure the creation of a safe and positive environment within all OUA activities, programs and events by ensuring that all Members, Administrators, Participants, and Coaches are aware that there is an expectation of appropriate behaviour, consistent with the principles and values of the OUA at all times.
  • To ensure that the OUA, all Members, Administrators, Participants, and Coaches are committed to providing an environment in which all individuals are treated with respect.
