MEDIA & PHOTO CREDENTIALS:

Full-season credentials will be issued to media members who cover the Gaels on a regular basis. Please contact Ben Fisher, Communications Coordinator, at benjamin.fisher@queensu.ca to submit your request.

For single-game media or photo credentials, contact the Communications Coordinator at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled game time.

Please note that credentials are only issued to working media personnel/photographers on assignment from a legitimate media organization. Credentials must be produced upon entry and upon request any time thereafter. Credentials are non-transferable, may be revoked at any time at the sole discretion of Queen's Athletics, and will automatically terminate if any term is breached. Decisions of the Sports Information Office regarding credentials are final.

Photographers wishing to have field-level or court-level access must wear an additional Queen's photographer identification. Photographers are not allowed in the bench areas.

FOOTBALL AT RICHARDSON STADIUM
Conference Sideline Policy:
As per the OUA sideline policy, the following additional regulations apply:
  • Photographers must stay 3 metres (9' 10") behind the sideline and end zone (i.e. behind the advertising banners)
  • Photographers and camera operators are prohibited from the team bench areas
  • It is forbidden to leave camera equipment unattended along the sidelines and end zones.

GAME-DAY AT RICHARDSON STADIUM
Media Entrance/Location:

  • Upon arrival to Richardson Stadium media are required to check in at Gate 3 (South West) with their credentials, if you have not already requested your credential or do not have your credential with you, you will not be granted access to the game.
  • Photographers/videographers wishing to have field-level access must wear an additional Queen's photographer/videographer identification which will be distributed at Gate 3. No individual will be allowed entry to the field without appropriate and visible credentials

ON FIELD - RICHARDSON STADIUM
Access Areas:

  • Photographers/videographers are not allowed in the bench areas and must stay within the respective photo zones (See map below). At no time are photographers/videographers allowed on the field of play
  • For special events such as opening ceremonies, signing of the national anthem and the team entering the field of play, photography areas will be designated and monitored
  • Credentials must be worn at all times and must be clearly visible.
  • Priority will be given to working media


PRESS BOX - RICHARDSON STADIUM
Media
Seating:The Richardson Stadium Press Box is for working members of the media only. Press Box space is limited. While the Sports Information Office will do its best to accommodate all working media, seating is not guaranteed. As a general rule, preference for press box seating will be given to media who cover the Gaels or the opposition on a regular basis. If necessary, press box space will be assigned according to the following criteria:

  1. Local and provincial newspapers by circulation, wire services, national publications, newspapers from opponents' area and student newspapers from Queen's and opponents' schools.
  2. Other daily newspapers with preference to those that regularly cover Queen's.
  3. Radio, television and online personnel not broadcasting but considered reporting (seats may be provided in the stands but other media access granted)
  4. Non-daily newspapers, with preference to those that regularly cover Queen's.
  5. Scouts

Press Box services:

  • Team Game Notes, depth charts, game programs, game-day information provided
  • Quickie statistics provided after each quarter, with defensive stats provided at halftime. Play-by-play statistics are available upon request.
  • Final statistics are available approximately 30 minutes after the game. Limited printed copies will be available on site, but the full package will be e-mailed upon request.
  • Wireless Internet is available in the Press Box. See the Sports Information staff for connection information. Telephone, copier and fax services are also available on a first-come, first-served basis.
INTERVIEWS
Interviews with Queen's University student-athletes, coaches and or staff can be arranged anytime by contacting the Sports Information Office. Twenty-four-hour notice would be appreciated, where possible. Student-athletes have been instructed to refer interview requests to the Sports Information Office. Queen's will not provide contact numbers for student-athletes without their prior consent.

Weekly Press Conference:
  • A weekly press conference with the Gaels Head Football Coach and selected student-athletes will be held each Thursday at 1 p.m. on the main floor of the Athletics & Recreation Centre. If you would like to speak with a particular player at the press conference, please inform the Sports Information Office by Wednesday at 4 p.m. Every effort will be made to fulfill reasonable requests.
Pre-Game and Halftime/Intermission Interviews (Game Day):
  • Game day interviews with student-athletes or coaches will normally only be granted to broadcast rightsholders. Please contact the Sports Information Office to make arrangements.
Post-Game Interviews:
  • Following the game, the Head Coach and selected players for Queen's will be made available to the media ten minutes following the final play, in the Richardson Stadium meeting room. Only broadcast rightsholders may conduct post-game interviews on the field. The Gaels dressing room is closed at all times.
  • Visiting media availability may be coordinated with the visiting sports information representative or coaching staff on hand outside of the visiting dressing room.
Attending Practice:
  • Practices are normally open to the media, but may be closed at the sole discretion of the Head Coach. Media wishing to attend practice are advised to confirm schedules and locations with the Sports Information Office prior to venturing out.
  • Student-athletes and coaches are normally available at the end of practice (please contact SID for timing), but team meetings and pre-practice activities will take priority. Filming may take place during warm-ups and individual drills only. No filming of team formations is permitted. Practice will normally take place at either Richardson Stadium or Miklas-McCarney Field.

GAME-DAY INFORMATION (BASKETBALL, VOLLEYBALL, HOCKEY)
Media Entrance/Location: Media Will Call is located at the ticket counter at the main entrance to the ARC or the Memorial Centre (as applicable).

Media Seating: The media facilities at the ARC and Memorial Centre for working members of the media only, and space may be limited. The Sports Information Office will do its best to accommodate all working media, but seating is not guaranteed. If it becomes necessary to limit seating, press box space will be assigned according to criteria listed for Richardson Stadium.

Press Box/Row services:

  • Game programs, game notes (if applicable), league standings and stat leaders provided
  • Quickie statistics provided after each period. Play-by-play statistics are available upon request during intermissions.
  • Final statistics are available approximately 15 minutes after the game.
  • Wireless Internet is available in the ARC and the Memorial Centre. See the Sports Information staff for connection information. Telephone, copier and fax services are also available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Website: The Gaels' website is located at www.gogaelsgo.com. The site includes up-to-date standings, schedules, rosters and news for each of Queen's University's varsity teams.

Live Stats: Live stats for football, basketball, volleyball and hockey are available via the Gaels' website.

Twitter: The official Twitter account of the Gaels is @queensgaels. Updates will be posted at regular intervals throughout each home football, basketball, hockey and volleyball contest.
