Queen's Men's Hockey returned to the ice tonight to face the UQTR Patriotes in a do-or-die Game Three of their best-of-three series. With the season on the line, the winner advances to the gold medal game against the Windsor Lancers at the Queen's Cup, while the other team will play the TMU Bold in the bronze medal match up.

The opening frame was a tight, physical battle. Both teams created scoring chances, but neither could find the back of the net. Queen's pressed hard on the power play, cycling the puck and generating quality looks, while Tanner Wickware (Graduate Studies) anchored the penalty kill with key clears and timely defensive plays, keeping the game scoreless heading into the second.

UQTR came out flying to start the second, applying relentless pressure and striking twice in quick succession to seize control. Queen's found themselves on their heels, absorbing heavy shots and fighting to regain momentum. Late in the period, the Gaels' all-rookie line delivered in a big moment: Thomas Sirman (Arts & Sciences) wired a clutch goal to cut the deficit in half, assisted by Colin Holmes (Arts & Sciences) and William Bouwer (Arts & Sciences). The score was now 2–1, and Queen's was back within striking distance heading into the final period.

The third period saw the Gaels throw everything at UQTR, generating multiple high-danger chances, cycling the puck, and crashing the net in search of the equalizer. Despite their best efforts, the Patriotes' defense and goal tending held firm. Late in the period, UQTR added an empty-net goal to seal a 3–1 victory, ending Queen's run in the East Final. The Gaels left it all on the ice, showing heart, grit, and determination right to the final buzzer.

Looking ahead, Queen's will now shift focus to the bronze medal game against the TMU Bold, with details to be announced soon. After a season in which the Gaels, as underdogs, toppled the #2 and #3 seeds, delivered clutch performances, and created countless memorable moments, this team has every reason to be proud of an incredible year of hockey.
