Queen's Women's Volleyball's Claire Carter, Lauren MacPhail, Abbey McAlpine named OUA All-Stars

Queen's Women's Volleyball had three players named OUA All-Stars for the 2025-26 season, the conference announced on Wednesday. Claire Carter was named a First Team All-Star, Lauren MacPhail was named a Second Team All-Star, and Abbey McAlpine was named a Third Team All-Star for the 2025-26.

"This is a well-deserved honour for our three student-athletes and reflective of quality individual performances and strong team play," said Queen's Women's Volleyball Head Coach Shanice Marcelle.

"Claire continues to prove that she is a top outside hitter in the league despite missing three matches to injury. Offensively she has the wow factor, but she has worked incredibly hard to develop a well-rounded game.

"Lauren has had a tremendous season in her first year as a starter leading the league in blocks and finishing second in hitting percentage, which is incredibly hard to do. Defensively she leads our team as a big presence at the net but has proven that she is equally effective through all zones offensively.

"Abbey stepped into a big role this season and constantly delivered leading our team in kills and competing fiercely every weekend. Through her career at Queen's, she has played many positions but truly excelled as an opposite leading by example through her resilience and grit."

Carter (Business) was second on the Gaels and 11th in the OUA in points this season with 241, powered off 185 kills. Carter also had a .293 hitting percentage, which was third on Queen's and eighth in the OUA, and led the OUA in aces per set at 0.63. Carter added 109 digs and 24 blocks on the season.

MacPhail (Arts & Science) was third on the Gaels in points with 164.5 off of 89 kills. MacPhail's .352 hitting percentage led Queen's and was second in the OUA, and their 74 blocks also led Queen's as well as the OUA. MacPhail also had 47 digs for the Gaels this season.

McAlpine (Arts & Science) led Queen's in both points, at 263.5, and kills, at 201. Those totals were eighth and 10th respectively in the OUA. McAlpine had a .199 hitting percentage and added 117 digs and 66 blocks for Queen's this season.
