Queen's Women's Hockey's
Sophie Hudson was named the OUA East Division Most Valuable Player for the 2025-26 season, the conference announced on Wednesday.
Hudson was one of five Gaels to earn a major award with the OUA this season.
Scarlett Nowakowski was named OUA East Division Defenceman of the Year,
Emma Tennant was named OUA East Division Goaltender of the Year,
Jada Wood was named OUA East Division Rookie of the Year, and
Morgan McHaffie was named OUA East Division Coach of the Year. Hudson was also named an OUA East Division First Team All-Star.
"I'm incredibly proud of Sophie for earning this recognition and truly saving her best season for last," said Queen's Women's Hockey Head Coach
Morgan McHaffie. "This honour speaks to the competitor and leader she is, especially after facing a very difficult mid-season injury, her perseverance, determination, and mental toughness allowed her to continue making a tremendous impact both on and off the ice while inspiring everyone around her."
Hudson (Chemical Engineering) led the Gaels and the OUA in both points and assists, finishing the season with 31 points and 18 assists. Hudson also had 13 goals on the season, including three game-winners, in helping Queen's finish first in the OUA East Division standings.
