Jada Wood was named the OUA East Division Rookie of the Year for the 2025-26 season, the conference announced on Wednesday.
Wood was one of five Gaels to earn a major award from the OUA for the 2025-26 season.
Sophie Hudson was named the OUA East Division Most Valuable Player,Â
Scarlett Nowakowski was named OUA East Division Defenceman of the Year,
Emma Tennant was named OUA East Division Goaltender of the Year, and
Morgan McHaffie was named OUA East Division Coach of the Year. Wood was also named to the OUA East Division All-Rookie Team.
"I'm so proud of Jada for earning Rookie of the Year after an incredible first season," said Queen's Women's Hockey Head Coach
Morgan McHaffie. "The work ethic, discipline, and habits she brings every day in combination with the humility in doing so, make her an exceptional player, and I am thrilled to see what's ahead for her."
Wood finished the season first among rookies in both scoring and assists. Wood had 20 goals and 13 assists on the season, to go along with her seven goals.
