The Queen's Gaels men's basketball team dominated the Nipissing Lakers on Friday, February 6, securing a huge 111-69 home victory. The Gaels showcased sharp shooting, relentless defence, and a balanced offensive attack to control the game from start to finish.
The Gaels got off to a fast start, putting up 39 points in the opening quarter to take a 39-19 lead. They maintained their momentum in the second quarter, extending the lead to 58-44 by halftime. Coming out of the break, the Gaels continued to pull away with aggressive offence and tight defence. In the third quarter, the Gaels outscored Nipissing to build an 89-56 lead and carried that dominance into the final quarter, finishing strong with a 111-69 victory.
Lucas Ponting (Commerce) led the Gaels with 23 points, including six three-pointers, while
Ollie Engen (Kinesiology) added 22 points with seven three-pointers.
