The Queen's Gaels men's basketball team secured a 77-69 home victory over the Laurentian Voyageurs on Saturday, February 7, using steady offensive execution and consistent defensive pressure to control the game.
The Gaels built an early edge in the opening quarter, taking a 19-16 lead before extending the margin to 38-30 by halftime. Coming out of the break, the Gaels maintained their rhythm on both ends of the floor, pushing the lead to 55-43 in the third quarter. Laurentian challenged late, but The Gaels remained composed in the final quarter to close out the 77-69 win.
Ollie Engen (Kinesiology) led the Gaels with 18 points, while
Tyson Lama (Commerce) added 16 points.
Lucas Ponting (Commerce) contributed 12 points, connecting from beyond the arc to support the balanced scoring effort.
The Gaels return to action on Friday, February 13, when they face Ontario Tech.
