Christine Abu and
Nolan Hutcheson have been named the Queen's University Student-Athletes of the Week, presented by Egg Farmers of Ontario, for their performances this past weekend.
Abu (Arts & Science) had a strong weekend for Queen's Women's Volleyball in their weekend doubleheader against the Ottawa Gee-Gees. In Friday's 3-2 loss to the Gee-Gees, Abu finished with nine points, six kills, and two aces, and in the Gaels' 3-1 win over Ottawa on Saturday, Abu recorded 15 points, 11 kills, and four blocks. Over the weekend, Abu finished with 24 combined points with an efficiency of .714 on Saturday, helping Queen's finish the regular season strong as winners of 10 of their last 11 games.
Queen's Women's Volleyball enters the OUA Playoffs as the No. 4 seed, with a 14-6 record, and will take on the Guelph Gryphons in the quarterfinals on Friday, Feb. 20 at 6 PM. Fans can purchase tickets to the playoff game on the

Hutcheson (Health Studies) helped Queen's Men's Hockey finish the regular season strong and clinch a playoff spot with two multi-point efforts over the weekend, as the Gaels went 2-0 with wins over the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks and Nipissing Lakers.
Hutcheson, who earlier this season became Queen's Men's Hockey's second all-time leading scorer, finished with a goal and an assist in Queen's 4-3 win over the Ridgebacks on Friday, and two goals in the Gaels' 4-0 win over Nipissing on Saturday.
With the two wins to close out the season, the Gaels finished the regular season with a 14-13-1 record to earn a playoff berth as the No. 6 seed. Queen's will take on the McGill Redbirds in the first round of the OUA Playoffs.
The Gaels will travel to McGill on Wednesday, Feb. 18 at 7 PM before hosting McGill on Friday, Feb. 20 at 7:30 PM. Game 3, if necessary, will be played at McGill on Sunday.
