Several current Queen's University students and alumni are competing at the 2026 Milano-Cortina Olympics this month.
Six current students at Queen's and two alumna are among the more than 200 athletes representing Canada at the 2026 Games. The current Queen's students including Kaylie Buck (Certificate in Business - Smith School of Business), Hallie Clarke, Amy Fraser (Certificate in Business - Smith School of Business), Alison Mackie (Health Sciences), Laura Stacey (Certificate in Business - Smith School of Business), and Blayre Turnbull (Certificate in Business - Smith School of Business).
Buck is competing in Parallel Giant Slalom, Clarke is competing in Skeleton, Fraser is competing in Freestyle Ski - Halfpipe), Mackie is competing in Cross Country Skiing, and Stacey and Turnbull are competing in Women's Hockey.
Two Queen's alumna are also competing at the 2026 Games in Emerance Maschmeyer (Certificate in Business - Smith School of Business 2017) and Jocelyn Peterman (Certificate in Business - Smith School of Business 2020).
Maschmeyer joins Stacey and Turnbull in competing in Women's Hockey, while Peterman is competing in Curling.
Per the Smith School of Business, Smith alumni and current students are also contributing behind the scenes through leadership, support and operational roles with the IOC, COC, CPC and partner organizations, including Emilie Fournel (MMIE'19), Andrew Baker (EMBAA'20), Colin Freeman (EMBAA'20), Erica Wiebe (EMBAA'22), Oluseyi Smith (EMBAA'23), Marie-Andrée Lessard (EMBAA'24), Jenn Nadolny (EMBA'25), Ella Mawdsley (EMBAA'27), Greg Douglas (MBA'19), Ryan Sommer (CIB'19), Olivier Jean (MMIE'20), Kerry Dankers (CIB'20), Claire Carver-Dias (EMBAA'21), and Kasia Gruchalla-Wesierski (CIB'21).
The Olympic Winter Games will take place from February 6 to 22, followed by the Paralympic Winter Games from March 6 to 15.
