Six Queen's Football players invited to CFL Combines

Six Queen's Football players were invited to the upcoming CFL Combines, the Canadian Football League announced on Thursday.

Offensive tackle Niklas Henning and linebacker Justin Pace were invited to the National Combine, which will take place in Edmonton, Alta. from March 26-29, while defensive back John Corscaden, defensive end Steven Kpehe, H-back Liam Silverson, and quarterback Alex Vreeken were invited to the Invitational Combine, taking place in Waterloo, Ont. on March 6.

Henning (Geology) was named a First Team All-Star after helping Queen's Football's offensive line pave the way for the conference's fifth best rushing attack, finishing the year with 1,493 yards, and third best offence overall, averaging 399.0 yards per game.

Pace (Economics) was named a Second Team All-Star after leading Queen's Football and finishing third in the conference in tackles per game at 6.4. In five games for Queen's Football, Pace recorded 32 tackles (24 solo, 16 assisted) and 4.5 tackles for a loss.

Corscaden (Graduate Studies) was named a First Team All-Star after finishing tied for the league lead in interceptions in the regular season with four. Corscadden added 31 tackles (20 solo, 22 assisted) and a pass breakup for Queen's Football.

Kpehe (Kinesiology) finished with 14 tackles (10 solo, eight assisted) and three sacks in the regular season, while adding another 5.5 tackles (two solo, seven assisted) and a sack in the postseason.

Silverson (Arts & Science) appeared in all eight regular season and four post-season games for Queen's Football, helping the Tricolour win the Yates Cup.

Vreeken (Kinesiology) was named a second team All-Star after finishing second in the conference in passing touchdowns, with 18, and fifth in the conference in passing yards, with 2,315. Vreeken finished the regular season 149 for 241 for a 61.8 per cent completion percentage, averaging 289.4 yards per game.
