The Queen's Gaels Men's Basketball team earned a dominant 91-44 victory over the Algoma Thunderbirds on Friday, January 23. From the opening tip, the Gaels controlled the game with efficient scoring, strong ball movement, and disciplined defense, keeping the Thunderbirds at a distance throughout the game.
Jakub Dobiech (Arts) led the Gaels with 17 points, hitting all five of his three-point attempts.
Ashton Bain (Arts) added 12 points, including two three-pointers, while
Lucas Ponting (Commerce) and
Inder Brar (Arts) each contributed 11 points. The team's consistent scoring kept the Gaels in control from start to finish.
The Gaels set the tone early in the first quarter, outscoring Algoma 24-8. They extended their lead in the second quarter, taking a 50-16 advantage into halftime. In the third quarter, the Gaels continued their strong play, putting up 28 points to lead 78-26 heading into the final period. In the fourth, the Gaels closed out the game with another 13 points to secure the 91-44 win.
The Gaels will look to keep their momentum going when they take on the Brock Badgers on Saturday, January 24.
