Undefeated and back on home court, Queen's Women's Basketball hosts the Guelph Gryphons on Friday night in a key OUA showdown. With their perfect record on the line, the Gaels aim to continue setting the standard across the conference.
From the opening tip, Bella Gaudet (Commerce) was on fire from beyond the arc, giving Queen's an early boost. She drained three three-pointers in the first, sparking a dominant offensive stretch as the Gaels controlled both ends of the floor. Strong defensive pressure limited Guelph's scoring opportunities, allowing Queen's to build a 26–10 lead.
The Gaels carried their momentum into the second quarter, with Ally Smith (Kinesiology) adding 10 points as Queen's continued to pair efficient scoring with tough defense. Queen's went into halftime with a commanding 44–19 lead.
Coming out of the break, Queen's showed no signs of slowing down. Consistent scoring and disciplined defense allowed the Gaels to extend their advantage to 62–34 heading into the final frame.
In the fourth quarter, Queen's closed out the contest with authority, securing a 78–51 victory. Bella Gaudet led the team with 20 points, including five three-pointers, while Kiyara Letlow (Kinesiology) posted a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Ally Smith added 12 points, helping the Gaels secure their 14th consecutive win of the OUA regular season.
When asked how it felt to secure the win and the team's 14th consecutive victory, Bella Gaudet said, "Feels great. We have been having a great season so far, just continuing to chip away, focusing on our defense, and playing together. It feels amazing to get another win at home."
