Jude Wheeler-Dee, Roman Mironov, Angus Skinner named to Team Canada roster for 2026 FISU World University Cross Country Championships

Three members of Queen's Cross Country were named to the 2026 FISU World University Cross Country Championships by U SPORTS on Wednesday.

Jude Wheeler-Dee, Roman Mironov, and Angus Skinner will be part of Canada's contingent at the international games in Italy in March.

The three earned selection following their strong performances at the 2025 U SPORTS Cross Country Championship in Sherbrooke, Que. in November.

Having all three of our team captains on this team shows the character of those individuals, but also the character of our team," said Queen's Cross Country Head Coach Mark Bomba. "With Roman and Jude being in their final year, this is the culmination of a five-year process that has led them to the pinnacle of university sport in Canada and now internationally."

Wheeler-Dee (Chemistry) and Skinner (Education) will compete in the 3 KM event.

Wheeler-Dee, the OUA Men's Cross Country champion and U SPORTS Men's Cross Country bronze medalist, averaged 3:03/km over the 10 km course.  Skinner, who finished 13th at the OUA Men's Cross Country Championship and 11th at the U SPORTS Men's Cross Country Championship, helped Queen's Men's Cross Country capture the national championship, join the 3-km with an average split of 3:06/km.

Mironov (Business) will compete for Canada in the 10 KM event. Mironov was named an OUA First Team All-Star after finishing seventh at the OUA Men's Cross Country Championship and earned All-Canadian honours at the U SPORTS Men's Cross Country Championship, finishing eighth overall (24:44) while helping the Gaels to win Gold.
