Queen's Football secured their third big win in a row, returning home after a two-game road trip to defeat the York Lions 57-5 Saturday afternoon at Richardson Stadium.
A day after Queen's Football honoured standout performers from the past by inducting the Class of 2025 into the Queen's Football Hall of Fame, a number of current student-athletes impressed with standout performances of their own in the big 52-point win.
Quarterback
Alex Vreeken (Kinesiology) continued an outstanding season with 394 yards and four touchdowns on 17-27 passing. Three of those touchdowns went to
Nathan Falconi (Health Studies), who had another strong performance for Queen's this season with six receptions for 258 yards and three touchdowns.
Receiver
Russell Weir (Economics) also had a strong game catching the ball for Queen's, finishing with three receptions for 105 yards and a score.
Running back
Jared Chisari (Graduate Studies) was relentless in the ground game, collecting 139 yards and two touchdowns on nine carries.
On the defensive side of the ball, defensive end
Oliver Jackson (Film & Media) continued a great season for Queen's by recording four sacks and five tackles.
Defensive backs
Keegan Vanek (Arts & Science) and
Ashton Miller-Melancon (Arts & Science) recorded an interception each in the win.
With the victory, Queen's improved their record to 4-2 and sit in third place in the OUA standings. Queen's Football will head back out on the road next weekend, visiting the Guelph Gryphons on Saturday, Oct. 4 at 1 p.m.
