Queen's Distance Track delivered an outstanding performance at the University of Ottawa Winter Classic, earning 11 medals across the weekend. Standout performances included Caleigh Pribaz earning an individual gold and team silver, and Jude Wheeler-Dee earning a gold with a school record performance.

The women's team had several standout results, including Caleigh Pribaz's (Kinesiology) gold medal in the 1500m with a time of 4:39.70. In the 3000m, Alyshia Alkerton (Arts & Science) captured gold in 9:42.58, while teammates Ella Lane (Arts & Science) and Olivia Baggley (Arts & Science) completed the podium with silver and bronze finishes in times of 9:45.49 and 9:49.53, respectively.

The women's 4x800m relay teams added to the medal haul, with the quartet of Elizabeth Vroom (Engineering), Katherine Taylor (Graduate Studies), Pribaz, and Gillian Porter (Applied Science) securing silver in 9:23.55, and the team of Molly Kenealy (Kinesiology and Health Studies), Kara Parkins (Kinesiology and Health Studies), Emma Graham (Concurrent Education -Political Studies), and Olivia Hendrikx (Medicine) earning bronze in 9:28.96.

On the men's side, Jude Wheeler-Dee (Chemistry) dominated the field to win gold with a time of 8:03.50 in the 3000m, while Tanner Hueglin (Arts & Science) and Roman Mironov (Commerce) followed with silver and bronze finishes in 8:15.54 and 8:22.30, respectively, giving Queen's another podium sweep. Hueglin (Arts & Science) also took silver in the 1500m with a time of 3:52.14.

The men's 4x400m relay team of Will Squarek (Applied Science), Nolan Legare (Business), Andre Larocque (Kinesiology), and Kynan Loftus (Arts & Science) rounded out the medal count with a silver-medal performance.

The Gaels now prepare to head over to Montreal for the McGill Team Challenge taking place on Jan. 24-26.
