KINGSTON, Ont. (Aug. 22, 2024) - Queen's Football's Darien Newell was featured on the fall edition of the CFL Scouting Bureau's list of Top 20 prospects eligible for the 2025 CFL Draft.

Newell (Philosophy) was listed at No. 19 in the first edition of the CFL Scouting Bureau rankings for the 2025 CFL Draft. The CFL Scouting Bureau also releases Top 20 rankings in the Winter and Spring.

Newell was named a First Team U SPORTS All-Canadian and First Team OUA All-Star last season after finishing the 2023 campaign with 23 tackles (20 solo, six assisted), 4.5 sacks, and eight tackles for a loss.

Newell helped Queen's Football finish as the top ranked defence in the OUA in points against (15.25 per game), and second ranked defence in the conference in yards allowed (300.1 per game).
