Six Queen's Women's Rugby players were named U SPORTS All-Canadians at the U SPORTS Women's Rugby All-Canadian Awards Banquet Thursday night in Prince Edward Island.
Izzy Page,
Jordyn Schneppenheim, and
Siobhan Sheerin were named First Team All-Canadians and
Madison Donnelly,
Lizzie Gibson, and
Tattyannah Jackson were named Second Team All-Canadians.
The Gaels'
Kennedi Stevenson was also named the
U SPORTS Women's Rugby Rookie of the Year at the All-Canadian Awards Banquet.
Page (Arts & Science) was named a First Team All-Canadian at Second Row.
Schneppenheim (Arts & Science) finished the 2024 regular season with one try and was named a First Team All-Canadian at Props, alongside Jackson.
Sheerin (Arts & Science), who was named a U SPORTS Women's Rugby Championship All-Star in 2022, was named a First Team All-Canadian at Back Row after finishing the season with five tries. Sheerin has added another five tries in the OUA playoffs and opened Wednesday's U SPORTS quarterfinal win against the Acadia Axewomen with a try.
Donnelly (Arts & Science), who was named the OUA Women's Rugby Rookie of the Year after the 2022 season, was second on the Gaels in tries (six) and third in points (30) on the season.
Gibson (Arts & Science), a 2023 OUA First Team All-Star and U SPORTS All-Canadian, and 2022 Women's Rugby Player of the Year, led the Gaels and the OUA in scoring with 100 points on the season off five tries, 26 converts, and one drop goal. Gibson recorded 18 points off nine converts in the Gaels quarterfinals win on Wednesday.
Jackson (Arts & Science) recorded three tries for Queen's this season and was named a Second Team All-Canadian at Prop.
Queen's opened the U SPORTS Women's Rugby Championship with a 68-0 win over the Acadia Axewomen in the quarterfinals, and will take on the No. 8 seed Victoria Vikes in the semifinals on Friday, Nov. 1. Watch the game live on CBC Gem and the
