Queen's Cross Country was on the podium in both the Men's and Women's events at the 8-Kay Marauder in Hamilton, Ont. Friday, with the Men's team finishing first overall and the Women's team finishing second overall. The Gaels also picked up three individual podium finishes in the event.
On the Men's side, Queen's earned gold with a final score of 34, 21 points better than the second place finishers, the Guelph Gryphons.
Jude Wheeler-Dee (Chemistry) picked up a second first place individual finish on the year, crossing the line ahead of all other runners with a final time of 24:20.5.
Wheeler-Dee was followed closely by teammate
Roman Mironov (Commerce), who finished the 8K race in second place overall with a time of 24:27.7.
Tanner Hueglin (Arts & Science) was the Gaels' third highest finisher, coming in eighth overall with a time of 25:08.8, while
Will Cox (Graduate Studies) finished in the Top 10 for Queen's, crossing the finish line 10
th overall with a time of 25:14.7.
The Women's side finished second overall with 80 points, six less than the third place finishers, McMaster.
Alyshia Alkerton (Arts & Science) led the way for the Gaels, finishing on the podium in third place overall with a final time of 28:45.1.
Ella Lane (Arts & Science) was Queen's next top finisher, crossing the line 10
th overall with a time of 29:24.8, while
Emma Graham (Concurrent Education - Political Studies Major) finished 17
th overall with a final time of 30:28.4.
Queen's Cross Country's next event is the OUA Championships on Saturday, Oct. 26 in North Bay, Ont.
