KINGSTON, Ont. (March 5, 2023) - Queen's Women's Basketball earned the No. 3 seed in the U SPORTS Women's Basketball Final 8 Championship, and will open the national championship tournament against the No. 6 seed UQAM Citadens later this week in Sydney, N.S.
The Gaels enter the tournament with the No. 3 seed after finishing their conference scheduled as the OUA finalists. Queen's dropped the OUA Critelli Cup Championship to the Carleton Ravens 70-57 Saturday. Queen's finished the regular season first in the OUA East with a program best 21-1 record, and defeated the Brock Badgers and Waterloo Warriors in the OUA Playoffs to advance to the Critelli Cup.

The Gaels will take on the Citadens, Thursday, March 9 at 10:30 a.m. EST. UQAMÂ earned the No. 6 seed in the tournament as the RSEQ Champions.
Ahead of the national championship tournament, Queen's had three players named as conference All-Stars and two major award winners.
Julia Chadwick (Ottawa, Ont.) was named an OUA First Team All-Star,
Laura Donovan (London, Ont.) was named an OUA Third Team All-Star, and Bella Gaudet (Ottawa, Ont.) was named to the OUA All-Rookie Team.
Bridget Mulholland (Kingston, Ont.) was named the Tracy MacLeod Award recipient, given annually to a player who demonstrates determination, perseverance, and unwavering spirit, and Head Coach
Claire Meadows was name the OUA Coach of the Year.
