Queen's Men's Hockey fell 3-1 to the Ottawa Gee-Gees Sunday afternoon in Ottawa, Ont.
After a scoreless first period, the Gee-Gees opened the scoring midway through the second period with a power play goal.Â
Ottawa would double their lead early in the third period before the Gaels got on the board, cutting the Gee-Gees lead in half when
Jack Duff found the back of the net on a goal assisted by
Jacob Paquette.
That was as close as Queen's would get however, with the Gee-Gees scoring late in the third period to restore their two-goal lead and hold on for the win.
Queen's outshot the Gee-Gees in the loss 27-19, with Gaels goalie
Luke Richardson making 16 saves.
With the loss, Queen's record fell to 10-11-2. The Gaels currently sit seventh in the OUA East standings.
