Queen's Women's Soccer remain undefeated with big win over Toronto

Queen's Women's Soccer defeated the Toronto Varsity Blues 4-1 in Toronto, Ont. Saturday afternoon to remain undefeated and improve their record to 5-0-2 on the season.

The Gaels opened the scoring with three straight goals before Toronto got one back in added time in the first half.

Jenna Matsukubo (Ottawa, Ont.) opened the scoring for Queen's in just the second minute with her second goal of the season. 

Seema Sakran (Barrie, Ont.) doubled Queen's lead in the 30th minute on a goal assisted by Tori Chia (Courtice, Ont.). Sakran's goal vaulted her to the top of the OUA points table with 11 on the season (eight goals, three assists).

Lily Goss (Kingston, Ont.) made it 3-0 for Queen's in the 43rd minute while Mattie Strickler (Ottawa, Ont.) restored the Gaels' three-goal lead in the 67th minute with her sixth goal of the season.

Kirstin Tynan (North Vancouver, B.C.) made seven saves in the win for the Gaels.

The Gaels sit third in the OUA East standings, just one point behind the Varsity Blues with a game in hand.

Queen's will return home for their next game, taking on the Nipissing Lakers Friday at 12 p.m. at Richardson Stadium.
