Tucker named First Team All-Canadian, Federico named Second Team All-Canadian

Queen's Football running back Rasheed Tucker was named a U SPORTS First Team All-Canadian and defensive end Anthony Federico was named a U SPORTS Second Team All-Canadian for the 2021 season. U SPORTS unveiled their major award winners and All-Canadians Thursday ahead of the Vanier Cup, hosted by Laval University. Queen's Football Head Coach Steve Snyder was named the U SPORTS Coach of the Year.

Tucker (Ajax, Ont.) finished the regular season second in the OUA in rushing with 114 carries for 697 yards and eight touchdowns. He was named the Canadian Football Perspective OUA Offensive Player of the Week twice during the regular season.

"Rasheed Tucker is a special talent that is a gifted runner of the football and a tough runner of the football," said Queen's Football Head Coach Steve Snyder. "I think he'd be the first to praise his offensive line and the blockers in front of him at the other positions that have opened doors for him to have a very special season."

Tucker has added another 61 carries for 419 yards and four touchdowns in the OUA Playoffs, being named the Canadian Football Perspective OUA Offensive Player of the Week another two times.

Federico (Niagara Falls, Ont.) led the OUA with seven sacks in the regular season, while also recording 25 tackles.

"Anthony is a true force on the edge with his length and his technical ability," said Snyder. "What a leader he's been this year, taking charge of that defensive line. This is something we expected from him because he is a very talented player that has put together two really solid seasons now as a pass rusher and an edge player."

Federico added another eight tackles and a sack in the OUA Playoffs.

The Gaels finished the regular season undefeated at 6-0 and hosted the 113th Yates Cup, where they fell to the Western Mustangs 29-0.
