Calgary pulls away from Dalhousie in second half to advance to Consolation Final at Canadian University Men’s Rugby Championship

(Kingston, Ont.) – The Calgary Dinos advanced to Sunday's Consolation Final at the Canadian University Men's with a 25-11 win over Dalhousie Men's Rugby on Friday, Nov. 26 at Nixon Field.

Dalhousie opened the scoring with two penalty converts and Calgary held a 7-6 lead at half time before the Dinos outscored Dalhousie 18-5 in the second half on their way to the 14-point win.

Nolan Kernick scored two tries and Keegan Neary added two converts and two penalty converts to help lead Calgary past Dalhousie. Kevin Eklund also scored a try for the Dinos.

James Clarke scored a try and Gregor Logan recorded two penalty converts for Dalhousie in the loss.

Kaiden Powell was named the Player of the Game for Calgary and Evan Logan was named the Player of the Game for Dalhousie.

Calgary will play the Concordia Stingers, who won Consolation Semifinal 1 against the RMC Paladins earlier in the day, in the Consolation Final on Sunday, Nov. 28 at 11 a.m. Dalhousie will take on the Paladins in the Seventh Place Game on Sunday at 9 a.m.
