WOMEN'S HOCKEY: Gaels look to keep pace in OUA playoff race as No.10 Lions come to Kingston
The Queen's Gaels (9-6-1-1) have just a lone matchup this weekend as they welcome the No.10 York Lions (10-5-0-1) to the Kingston Memorial Centre on Saturday night with puck drop set for 7:30 pm.

A tough road swing last weekend saw the Gaels visiting Western Friday night followed by an afternoon matchup at Guelph on Saturday. The Gaels battled Western until the Mustangs broke the game open in the third and took a 3-0 win. Queen's bounced back nicely with a shutout of their own in a 2-0 win at Guelph. Makenzy Arsenault stopped all 17 shots faced for the shutout and Taylor Hicks picked up the game-winner.

The Lions sit in second in the OUA just three points ahead of Queen's who sit fifth in a tightly contested playoff race. York is coming off a 2-0 loss at home to the OUA leading Toronto Varsity Blues last weekend. They will visit Ontario Tech on Friday before meeting Queen's Saturday. York defeated Queen's earlier this season 3-1 in Toronto.

MEN'S HOCKEY: Gaels host Ontario Tech Friday, visit Concordia Sunday as playoff race heats up
With just eight games remaining in the OUA regular season the Queen's Gaels (8-11-1) play host to the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks (8-10-3) Friday before travelling to Montreal to take on the Concordia Stingers (7-9-5) Sunday night. Both games are set for 7:30 pm puck drops.

Queen's is coming off of a tough week that saw them play three games in five days in three different cities. After suffering tough losses to Guelph and Carleton the Tricolour bounced back nicely with a 3-2 win over Nipissing. Jaren Burke picked up a late second-period power-play goal that held up as the game-winner at Nipissing.

The Ridgebacks and Stingers both sit ahead of the Gaels in the OUA standings as they are tied for fifth while the Gaels sit just two points back in a tie for seventh with Nipissing.

Ontario Tech is coming off of a three games in four days stretch that saw them go 2-1 with wins over Laurentian and Nipissing. For Concordia, wins have been rare as they have lost four straight with their last victory being a wild 8-7 win over Ottawa. The Stingers have gone to overtime in eight of their 21 games so far this season. They will host Nipissing on Saturday ahead of the matchup with Queen's.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: No.7 nationally ranked Gaels set to clash with Top 10 rivals in Ottawa
In what will surely feel like a preview of the U SPORTS national championships, the No.7 Queen's Gaels (8-4) head to Ottawa to challenge the No.3 Ottawa Gee-Gees (11-2) and No.4 Carleton Ravens (11-2) in a battle of nationally-ranked opponents. Each matchup is set for a 6 pm tip-off in Ottawa.

The Gaels are coming off of a huge 84-34 win over Algoma last Saturday in their first action of the New Year. Both Ottawa and Carleton have lost just twice on the season and each suffered losses to the Gaels in Kingston in early November. Queen's beat Carleton 76-71 before toppling Ottawa 81-75. Another pair of victories would see the Gaels jump up the national rankings next week.

Both Ottawa and Carleton are coming off of a pair of road wins as they each visited Nipissing and Laurentian last weekend. The two teams closed out 2019 against one-another with Ottawa holding court 66-49 at Carleton.

The U SPORTS Women's Basketball National Championships will be in Canada's capital in March 2020. The U SPORTS Final 8 tournament will be hosted in a joint effort between the University of Ottawa, Carleton University, and the Ottawa Sports & Entertainment Group (OSEG).

MEN'S BASKETBALL: Queen's carries five-game win streak into Ottawa against nationally-ranked Ravens and Gee-Gees
With a victory last weekend, the Queen's Gaels (8-4) extended their win streak to five games and hit the road to visit the No. 4 Ottawa Gee-Gees (10-3) Friday night and No.1 Carleton Ravens (13-0) Saturday night in Ottawa. Tip-off for each contest will be 8 pm.

Behind a 40-point effort from Quinton Gray the Gaels were able to dismantle the Algoma Thunderbirds 89-62 at the ARC last Saturday. Gray became the third Gael to score 40+ points in a game joining former Gaels Greg Faulkner and long-time Ravens head coach Dave Smart. Smart holds the Queen's all-time record for points in a single game with 43 in the 1993-94 season.

Both Ottawa and Carleton started 2020 off with a road trip to Northern Ontario taking on Laurentian and Nipissing. Carleton continued their undefeated season but Ottawa dropped a 78-65 decision to the Voyageurs. The Gaels met both teams earlier this season in Kingston but finished 0-2 against their Eastern Ontario rivals.

WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL: Gaels carry five-game win streak into Western Ontario road trip
The Queen's Gaels (7-3) are back in action this weekend as they travel to take on the No.9 nationally ranked Western Mustangs (8-3) on Friday night and Windsor Lancers (3-6) on Saturday night with both matches set for 6 pm start times.

Queen's is coming off a weekend that saw them pick up a pair of straight-set sweeps, first in Peterborough over Trent on Friday night and at home against RMC on Sunday afternoon. In the Gaels 3-0 sweep at Trent, Julia Wiercigroch finished with 11 kills, four digs and two service aces finishing with a 0.588 attack percentage. She followed that up with a strong defensive match against cross-town rivals RMC picking up 15 digs while adding nine kills and a block in the 3-0 victory.

Western sits atop the OUA West while Windsor sits seventh this season. Both teams took on Ryerson last weekend with Western picking up a win and Windsor a loss. The two teams will also meet RMC this weekend. Queen's has struggled recently against Western dropping their last six contests including three straight OUA quarter-final contests. The last time Queen's defeated Western was in November of 2015. The Gaels will look to break the streak this weekend.

Be sure to watch the action this Saturday night at Windsor live on OUA.tv.

MEN'S VOLLEYBALL: No.8 nationally ranked Gaels visit Western and Windsor
The No.8 Queen's Gaels (6-3) will look to extend their four-game winning streak as they visit the Western Mustangs (4-5) on Friday night and the No.9 Windsor Lancers (5-4) on Saturday night. Each match is set for an 8 pm start time.

The Gaels picked up a pair of wins last weekend defeating Trent in Peterborough 3-0 and RMC at Queen's 3-0. The duo of Zac Hutcheson and Adam Boljkovac combined for 30 kills in the Gaels win over Trent. Hutcheson then added another 10 against RMC Sunday. Queen's is currently in a tie for second in the OUA East with Ryerson at 12 points.

Both Western and Windsor have played just one match in 2020 so far as the Lancers picked up a win over Ryerson while the Mustangs were shutout 3-0 against the Rams. Each team will also battle the RMC Paladins this weekend.
