Over the weekend, the Queen's sailing team competed at the Can Am Cup and at US Naval Academy for theĀ Carl Van DyuneĀ Trophy.

Women's LacrosseĀ
The Gaels women's lacrosse team competedĀ in Waterloo this past weekend, against the Laurier Golden Hawks and Brock Badgers. Queen's opened the scoring, holding possessionĀ for most of the 1st quarter. The GaelsĀ defense translated into a lot of offensive possessions, which helped create a 9-3 halftime lead. The Gaels continued to press forward throughout the latter stages of the match and finished the game with a 15-8 victory.Ā Ā
Kiah Shanks (8G),
Annie Lloyd 2G, 3A) and
Molly Fisher (2G, 2A) led the way offensively.Ā
The second game of the day was a very tight affair with Brock. Both teams would share scoring chances, with the Gaels capitalizing late in the first quarter to take a 2-0 lead. The tight play continued in the second quarter, as Brock's goalie finished the half with 11 saves and Queen's led 4-2. The Gaels would pour it on in the second half, outscoring Brock 7-1, for a final score of 11-3.Ā Ā
Kiah Shanks registered four goals and
Jordan Kummer added three goals in the victory.
The Gaels will be on the road at University of Toronto's Varsity Stadium next Saturday for games at 12 pm and 3 pm.
Field HockeyĀ
The Queen's Gaels field hockey team traveled to London, Ont on Saturday to face Waterloo for the second time this season. In their previous meeting this season Queen's earned a 2-1 victory. Unfortunately, this week Waterloo walked away with a 1-0 victory.Ā
Queen's dominated the majority of the game and took multiple shots, but the ball did not find it's way into the net. The team added an extra attacker in the last quarter to try and even the score but unfortunately could not level the score.Ā
Queen's will play two games next weekend at the University of Toronto's Back Campus Field.Ā
CyclingĀ
The Queen's Cycling teamed earned several podium performances this past weekend, asĀ Kaitlyn Shikaze and Hanna GirndtĀ went 1-2 in the Women's A. In the Men's A,
Andrew Jonker finished 1
stĀ and Jack Ciotlos finished 3
rd. In the Women's B, Erika Rankin finished 2
ndĀ and Natalie Boztang finished 3
rd. In the Men's B, Eric YuyitungĀ also stood atop the podium with a first place finish.Ā
