BOX SCORE 2 KINGSTON, Ont. - The Queen's men's basketball team is hosting their annual Tindall Invitational tournament as they welcome the Ottawa Gee-Gees, Memorial Seahawks and Regina Cougars to Kingston.
THURSDAY
Ottawa 84, Queen's 64
The Gaels and Gee-Gees got things started on Thursday night at the ARC in the lone game of action on the day.
Queen's started out the opening quarter strong building up a lead of six points over Ottawa mid-way through the frame. The Gee-Gees battled back and eventually lead 20-18 after the opening frame. Queen's had seven points from 
Henry Van Herk in the quarter who had the hot hand early on.
Ottawa was able to stay ahead from there padding their lead by another seven points to take a nine-point advantage into halftime. Guillaume Pepin paced the Gee-Gees with 11 points in the second quarter in six minutes of action.
The Gaels struggled from both the three-point line and free throw line in the matchup shooting 19% (4-21) and 50% (6-12) respectively. Ottawa connected on 12-34 from beyond the arc and opened up a 20 point lead late into the fourth quarter. 
Nikolay Alabi had nine points for the Gaels off the bench in the second half and finished the game with 15 points to lead Queen's. Kingston rookie Cole Syllas played 27 minutes picking up eight points, six rebounds and three assists in the loss.
The Gee-Gees were led by Calvin Epistola who had 18 points.
The Gaels will meet Memorial Friday night at 8 pm while Ottawa is right back in action against Regina Friday at 4 pm. Tickets are available at gogaelsgo.com/tickets.
FRIDAY
Regina 86, Ottawa 89
Memorial 72, Queen's 80 (OT)
It took overtime but the Gaels were able to pick up their first win of the Tindall Invitational 80-72 over Memorial.
It was a tale of two halves in the contest as teh Gaels started out the matchup strong with an 18-12 lead after the first and a 32-22 advantage heading into halftime. The visitors from the AUS conference were not to be outdone however as they came out firing in the third quarter outscoring Queen's by nine points.
The Gaels duo of 
Quinton Gray and 
Connor Keefe combined to ensure the Tricolour would seal a win with the duo totalling 50 points behind 28 from Gray. Keefe came through in overtime scoring six points while also adding four rebounds in the extra frame as the Gaels escaped with an 80-72 win.
Queen's will close out their tournament play on Saturday at 6 pm when they take on Regina.
SATURDAY
Ottawa 93, Memorial 60
Regina 81, Queen's 75
The Regina Cougars picked up their first win of the Tindall Tournament with an 81-75 victory over the host Gaels. The Cougars got out in front early opening up a 10 point lead after the first quarter and never looking back.
Queen's never led in the match as Regina was able to keep the Gaels off balance. The Gaels shot well at 45.8% compared to Regina at 39.4% but turnovers cost the Gaels as they had 21 compared to 14 for Regina. 
Quinton Gray led the Gaels with 22 points and was able to tie the game late in the fourth. The Gaels were down just two points in the final minute and Gray had a chance to put Queen's ahead but his three-point attempt just missed. Regina held on from there and secured teh 81-75 win.
Regina will look to pick up their second win of the tournament when they take on Memorial Sunday. Ottawa defeated Memorial earlier in the afternoon to finish at 3-0 and claim the Tindall title for 2019.
