GAME FLOW
Queen's got on the board quickly with three tries within the first fifteen minutes of the match, two of which came from Victoria, B.C. native Sophie de Goede.

The Gaels continued to score try after try while York was barely able to carry possession into the opposing half. The Gaels reached the half-time break with the advantage being 54-0. A standout from the first half was fullback Nadia Popov who scored a try and converted all but one of the Gaels kicks in the half.

The second half was more of the same for the Gaels as they extended the lead to 90 points. The Lions were finally able to respond just before the final whistle with a try of their own, scored by York's No.8 Lauryn Lagerton - making the final score 90-5 in favour of the Gaels.

FINAL SAY
Head coach Dan Valley commented on setting the tone early on: "York's always a really challenging one for us – we know they're going to be gritty and abrasive at the point of contact. Our goal was to bring the fight to them right out of the gate. I was very happy to see our group be physically dominant from the outset."

UP NEXT
The Gaels take on the St. Francis Xavier X-Women next Saturday (Oct 6th) in exhibition play @ Ottawa. They will then host an OUA playoff match the following weekend.
