LONDON, Ont. (September 28, 2018) - The Queen's men's hockey team is in London, Ontario for the East vs West tournament that pits two OUA East teams against two OUA West teams. The Gaels meet Waterloo on Friday night followed by Western on Saturday.
FRIDAY
The Gaels took to the ice against the Waterloo Warriors to open up the East vs West tournament. Queen's was able to score twice in the game and held a 2-1 lead going into the final frame. Justin Fazio got the start for Queen's and was sharp in goal finishing with 31 saves on the night after neither team tallied in the final frame.
The Gaels held on for a 2-1 victory. Queen's got goals from Jared Bethune and 
Henry Thompson and outshot Waterloo 35-32 on the evening.
SATURDAY
The Gaels were back in action on Saturday night as they took on the Western Mustangs.
Alex Row had a pair of goals, meanwhile 
Graeme Brown, 
Eric Margo and Owen Stout had goals of their own as the Gaels came away with a 5-3 victory.
Jack Flinn recorded the win in net as the Gaels claimed the East vs West tournament championship.
UP NEXT
The Gaels will begin their season on October 5 as they head to Montreal to take on the McGill Redmen.
