San José, Costa Rica (August 28, 2018) - The Queen's women's basketball team has headed south for a special training camp trip to Costa Rica where they are set to do training, travelling and play in a pair of exhibition matches, the first of which tipped-off on Tuesday night.
QUEEN'S VS COSTA RICAN NATIONAL TEAM
The Gaels had a strong effort despite the travel and handled themselves well against the Costa Rican National team coming away with a 66-42 victory.
Veronika Lavergne led the way for the Gaels dropping seven of her 10 attempts to finish with a team high 15 points to go along with seven rebounds. In total 15 Gaels saw the court and 13 were able to find the basket for at least two points.Â
Queen's never trailed throughout the game and put back an impressive 57% of their shots in the paint.
