KINGSTON, Ont. (MAY 3, 2019) - Queen's linebacker Nelkas Kwemo (Montreal) has been selected by the Toronto Argonauts in the 2nd round, 18th overall in the 2018 CFL draft.

Kwemo was soon followed by a pair of teammates on the defensive side of the ball. Fellow linebacker Mike Moore (Mississauga, Ont.) was taken by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the 6th round, 44th overall and defensive back Jake Firlotte (Abbotsford, B.C.) was selected in the 7th round, 58th overall by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

NELKAS KWEMO | LB | TORONTO ARGONAUTS
Kwemo has been a defensive force for the Gaels in his four seasons in the Tricolour. In 2016 he finished with 45 tackles and 3.5 sacks then bested those totals in 2017 after landing 48 tackles and four sacks. The Montreal native also chipped in with three interceptions, one which he returned for his first career touchdown. He was named an OUA First Team All-Star and U SPORTS First Team All-Canadian for his efforts.

Kwemo will join former Gael Matt Webster with the Argos. Webster helped the Boatmen take the Grey Cup last season.
MIKE MOORE | LB | HAMILTON TIGER-CATS
Moore has been as consistent as they come, having been a leader in tackles in each of his four seasons at Queen's. For his career he averaged 5.8 tackles per game and snared 44 last year to go along with a sack, four tackles for a loss and a forced fumble.

Moore will join former Gaels receiver Giovanni Aprile in Hamilton.

JAKE FIRLOTTE | DB | WINNIPEG BLUE BOMBERS
Jake Firlotte (Abbotsford, B.C.) a defensive back for the Gaels, Firlotte did a little bit of everything in his fourth season as a Gael. He finished with 14 tackles on the season and added a forced fumble and his third career interception. His pickoff of Waterloo quarterback Tre Ford came at the end of half as the Gaels closed out the Warriors en route to a playoff position.
