THUNDER BAY, Ont. - The OUA Nordic Skiing Championships concluded this past weekend at the Lappe Nordic Ski Centre and the Gaels were led by Marlee Sauder who picked up a bronze medal in the women's mass start free 10km run helping the team to a sixth overall finish while the men just missed out on the podium coming in fourth.
Sauder finished her race in a time of 0:37:02.3 to place third just 2:04.0 behind the second place finisher. Sauder was also named to the OUA All-Star team for her efforts. The Carleton team finished with a team first overall while Guelph and Nipissing rounded out the top three.
On the men's side, the Gaels were lead by Colin Foley in the 10km classic as he finished ninth for the Gaels in a time of 0:37:26.8 which was just 2:33.3 off the leader. The Gaels despite having no all-stars were able to put together a fourth place team score. Lakehead took gold followed by Nipissing and Carleton.
