KINGSTON, Ont. (November 16, 2018) - The Queen's Gaels (3-3) suffered a tough loss to the Laurier Golden Hawks (4-3) 93-65 on a school day game on Friday afternoon.
GAME FLOW
The Golden Hawks opened up an early 8-0 lead on Queen's but the Gaels were quick to respond.
Matt Elcock drained a three-pointer to get the Gaels within one and
Quinton Gray knocked down a jumper, picked up a steal and finished off a lay-in for four points in just 13 seconds.
After a timeout, the Golden Hawks turned things around and held a 33-15 lead over the Gaels.
Ntore Habimana scored 11 in the second quarter for Laurier and the Gaels offence couldn't keep pace trailing 59-30 at halftime.
The Golden Hawks continued their strong shooting into the second half as they saw six players hit double-digits in points.
Quinton Gray scored six points in the fourth as the Gaels had their best quarter outscoring Laurier 20-12 but it was too late as Laurier took the win 93-65.
SCHOOL DAY GAME
Despite heavy snow hitting the Kingston region overnight, many school children were in attendance for the school day game to cheer on the Gaels.
