WINDSOR, Ont. (October 20, 2018) – The Queen's Gaels (2-2-0-0) defeated the Windsor Lancers (0-4-0-0) with a 4-1 performance on Saturday afternoon.
The win snaps the Gaels' two game losing streak and gets their offence back on track after struggling against No.9 Nipissing and No.7 Western.
GAME FLOW
Despite making the trip from London to Windsor for an afternoon matchup with the Lancers, the Gaels found their legs early as they peppered Windsor goalie Molly Jenkins with eight shots and limited the Lancers to just two.
In the second period was when the Gaels did all of their damage.
First,
Katrina Manoukarakis scored her first goal of the season as she took a centring pass from
Caroline DeBruin and found the top corner.
The Lancers responded with a goal of their own halfway through the period as Alix Reiter scored an unassisted goal to tie the game 1-1.
However, the Gaels scored three goals in the final ten minutes to cruise into the third period.
Caroline DeBruin scored a powerplay goal as she found a loose puck in the slot and fired it past Jenkins to put the Gaels ahead 2-1. Then, three minutes later
Hailey Wilson took a rebound and put it into a wide-open cage to put the Gaels up by two.
Just a minute later,
Addi Halladay scored on a breakaway opportunity for her first goal of the season.

ARSENAULT SHUTS THE DOOR
