GAMES OF THE WEEK
It's a big weekend for the women's and men's basketball teams as they host Laurentian this Friday night at 6 and 8 pm in the #BellLetsTalk game for mental health awareness. Fans are encouraged to wear the blue Bell Let's Talk toques to show their support. The games will also feature more toque giveaways, special in-game promotions and contests, peer health promotion volunteers, a banner for fans to sign, talk bubbles, thunder sticks, and temporary tattoos.
On Saturday night the women's basketball game is their annual Shoot for the Cure night, and members of the team and Gaels community will also be participating in a "Cuts for Cancer" donation during halftime of each the women's and men's game. all will participate in Cuts for Cancer Saturday.
Women's Basketball
During #BellLetsTalk night the No.8 Gaels (13-3) will host the Laurentian Voyageurs (3-12) and the annual Shoot for the Cure game Saturday will see the Nipissing Lakers (2-13) visit the ARC. Both games are slated for 6 pm tip-offs.
The Gaels are coming off of road weekend that saw them come away with a pair of victories, defeating Ryerson last Friday and following up with a win over Toronto on Saturday.
The victory over the Rams was of particular importance as Ryerson had been closing in on the Gaels in the standings and it could prove valuable at the end of the season.
Queen's sits in second place in the OUA East, four points ahead of Ottawa and six ahead of Ryerson.
Queen's student tickets are FREE! Just bring your student card and swipe at the door, it's that easy.

Men's Basketball
Queen's (9-7) will host No.7 Laurentian (13-2) on #BellLetsTalk night and the challenge the Nipissing Lakers (6-9) on Saturday. Both games are set for 8 pm tip-offs.
The Gaels will be looking to upset the Voyageurs Friday after just a few weeks ago pushing Laurentian to overtime in Sudbury before falling 71-70.
Queen's will look to snap a two-game losing streak from last weekend that saw them fall to both Ryerson and Toronto on the road.
The Gaels currently sit in a tie for fifth in the extremely tough OUA East division. The Gaels are four points behind the Ryerson Rams who beat the Gaels last weekend. Queen's will need to pull off a few upsets if they hope to catch Ryerson and there is no better time than starting with this weekends matchup.

Women's VolleyballÂ
It's a big weekend for the Queen's Gaels (8-3) as they travel to Toronto to take on the Varsity Blues (8-3) Saturday at noon and then close out the weekend at No.7 Ryerson (12-0) on Sunday at 2 pm.
The Gaels sit in a tie for second in the OUA East with Toronto, and both teams trail the undefeated Rams in the standings.Â
It will be a battle between two of the top outside hitters in the OUA as the Gaels
Shannon Neville and Varsity Blues Alina Dormann square off. Dormann leads the OUA in kills per set at 3.56 while Neville sits third at 3.30.
Neville will look to continue to impress as she is coming off back-to-back 16 kill, three-set performances.

Men's Volleyball
The men's volleyball team (5-5) continues to hunt down a playoff spot this weekend as they take on Toronto (5-5) and Ryerson (8-3).
The Gaels currently sit in a tie for the fourth-place final playoff spot in the OUA East with Toronto. Both teams are also just two points back of Nipissing with a game in hand on the Lakers.
Friday night's game could go a long way in determining who gets the final playoff spot in the East but the two teams will meet once more this season in Kingston.
Keep an eye on the Gaels
Joel Rudd as the sophomore has had two straight games with 15 points while recording seven and six digs respectively. He is no slouch at the service line either, having recorded aces in five straight matches including three against Trent.

Women's Hockey
The top of the OUA standings in women's hockey has become a bit more crowded as the Gaels lead both Guelph and Western by three points but the Gryphons have a game in hand on Queen's and two on the Mustangs.
The No.9 Gaels (10-3-2-3) will do battle with the No.6 Gryphons (10-3-4-0) in Guelph this Saturday afternoon at 2 pm before heading to Toronto to take on York (5-0-10-3) Sunday afternoon at 2 pm.
Queen's is coming off a weekend where they put up eight goals in a win over Windsor but were shutout the following day by Western.
The battle between the pipes will feature two of the countries best netminders as
Stephanie Pascal brings her 1.35 GAA to Guelph to take on Valerie Lamenta who holds a 1.33 mark.

Men's Hockey
Coming off a three-game week the Gaels will have just one matchup this weekend as they complete the home-and-home swing with Laurentian.
The newly minted No.10 Gaels (15-5-3) will travel to Sudbury to take on the Voyageurs (6-15-1) on Saturday night at 7:35 pm. Queen's was able to shutout Laurentian last Saturday night in Kingston 4-0 behind a shutout performance from goaltender
Kevin Bailie that earned him his career regular-season win number 50.
The Gaels now sit in a tie for seconding in the OUA East with Concordia, but the Stingers have a game in hand on Queen's. The Tricolour have allowed an OUA low 54 goals so far this season and will be looking to get to within four points of first place McGill with a win, holding a game in hand.
