A number of Gaels have been staying competitive on the national and international stage this summer representing Canada.
In women's rugby,
McKinley Hunt competed for the Canadian U20 team in a two-game series against the USA with Hunt being named the teams captain. Canada secured a pair of victories and took the series with an aggregate two-game score of 95-36. The Canadian U18 women's team, coached by the new Queen's women's rugby coach
Dan Valley, featured two incoming Queen's rookies in Emma Frey and Kyra Maybee. Canada took on the USA in a two-game series sweeping with a two-game aggregate series win 83-17.
Another pair of incoming women's rugby rookies, Hannah Daniels and Sophie DeGoode, were members of the Canadian 7s team at the Youth Commonwealth Games.
On the water, women's rowing star Louise Munroe has had a busy few weeks. Most recently, she won the U23 women's 1x at the Royal Canadian Henley Regatta in St. Catharines in a time of 7.46.480. At the K-Town Triathlon, Munroe was the first-place female and has won a gold at the RowOntario Championship.
