KINGSTON, Ont. (January 27, 2017) – The Queen's Gaels (8-4-6-0) defeated the Laurentian Voyageurs (9-0-8-2) 4-3 in a shootout Friday evening as the Gaels came all the way back from a 2-0 first period deficit.

Early in the period, Jessica Staats scored for the Voyageurs, shooting in a rebound in front of the net. Marie-Pierre Pelissou picked up an assist on the play. Several minutes later, the Voyageurs capitalized on a power-play opportunity to take a 2-0 lead. Morgan McCann scored for the Voyageurs with Sara Habal and Maggie Brennan assisting on the play. FINAL SAY
"We had a talk after the first period about what we needed to do. You could tell that the team felt confident and knew that they could get back in the game. It was a team win, but our captain was a big part of it."
