ST. CATHARINES, Ont. (January. 21, 2017) – The No. 3 Queen's Gaels (16-4-2) defeated the Brock Badgers (11-11-1) 5-0 on Saturday evening in OUA men's hockey action.

The Gaels held the momentum throughout the entire game, scoring five uncontested goals on the Badgers.
In the first period,
Slater Doggett (Oakville, Ont.) opened the scoring, with
Ryan Bloom (Calgary) and
Eric Ming (Williamstown, Ont.) assisting on the play. This proved to be the only goal of the period, allowing the Gaels to take a 1-0 lead heading into the second.
In the second, the Gaels extended their lead.
Darcy Greenaway (Wilton, Ont.) scored on the powerplay, with
Dylan Anderson (Greely, Ont.) and
Eric Ming picking up the assists. Several minutes later, Queen's took advantage of another powerplay opportunity to take a 3-0 lead before the end of the period.
In the third period, the Gaels continued their attack. Ten minutes into the period, Bloom scored with Doggett and
Eric Ming picking up the assists. This gave the Gaels a 4-0 lead. Two minutes later,
Nevin Guy (Mountain, Ont.) picked up a short-handed goal assisted by Bloom and
Harrison Hendrix (Calgary). This concluded the scoring, allowing the Gaels to take a 5-0 final over the Badgers.

Jacob Brennan (Halifax) was outstanding, stopping all 43 shots on goal. With the win, Brennan has yet to lose a game in which he has started this season.
