Â
The tricolour continued their streak with another split last weekend, beating Brock 3-2 before falling 5-0 to No.5 Guelph. Against Brock, Queen's had to come back from two goals down to claim victory.
Nadia Larocca (Mississauga, Ont.) led the tricolour charge, potting two goals in the second period to even the score heading into the final frame.
Danelle Bishoff (Calgary, Alta.) netted her first of the season in the opening minute of the third period, and the Gaels held on to win 3-2. Second-year
Kaylie Dennis (London, Ont.) recorded the first multi-point game of her career with two assists, which were matched by teammate
Kyla Crouse (Mount Brydges, Ont.).
Â
UOIT had just one game last weekend when they travelled to Brock, but suffered a 5-0 defeat. Goaltender Cassie Charette was chased from the net after two periods of work and replaced by Briar Hughes. Kassidy Nauboris is the Ridgebacks point leader with four goals and one assist so far this season, followed by Samantha Forchielli's three goals.

Â
Gael
Claire Sumner (Calgary, Alta.) was the individual OUA Champion two weeks ago, and was joined on the podium by Queen's teammate
Julie-Anne Staehli (Lucknow, Ont.), who won Bronze. The two podium finishes helped the tricolour women finish with team bronze medals. Staehli and Sumner both finished in the top 10 at last year's National Championship, earning All-Canadian status. As a team, Queen's just missed the podium in fourth.
Â
On the men's side,
Eric Wynands (Lyn, Ont.) finished in 10th spot at the OUA Championship to earn a conference All-Star nod. Queen's ended the day in fifth as a team. At the National Championship last year, the tricolour had an eighth place team finish.
Â
MEN'S RUGBY AT OUA CHAMPIONSHIP
The men's rugby team is looking for a fifth consecutive OUA Championship this weekend at Guelph, with the title game to be played at 5 PM on Sunday.

Kainoa Lloyd (Mississauga, Ont.), and
Matthew Geisler (Toronto) scored the other tries for Queen's in the victory, with
Alex Colborne (London, Ont.) kicking a pair of penalty goals to round out the Gaels scoring.

The Gryphons handled McMaster with ease last weekend, coming out on top 31-8 in their OUA Semi-Final. Like Queen's, nobody on the Guelph roster scored more than one try in their playoff game, but one who did get into the tryzone was Jordan Holstra, who had a team-high eight tries during the regular season.
