North Bay Ont. (October 22, 2016) – The Gaels (10-4-1) defeated the Nipissing Lakers (4-8-3) 3-0 on the road Saturday afternoon on the final weekend of regular season play.
 
GAME FLOW
In the first half, the Gaels opened the scoring with back-to-back goals from Laura Callender (Ottawa, Ont.).
 
Callender's first goal was unassisted in the 3rd minute. Forty minutes later, Callender scored her second goal of the half, after receiving a pass from Tara Bartram (Vancouver, B.C.). This gave the Gaels a 2-0 lead at the break.
 
In the second half, Queen's extended the lead to 3-0. In the 88th minute Bartram scored an unassisted goal to make the final 3-0 for the tricolour.
 
Goaltender Madison Tyrell (White Rock, BC) made seven saves to keep the Lakers off the scoreboard.
