The men's hockey team (11-4-0) are back at the Memorial Centre this weekend for a Friday night matchup with the Concordia Stingers (7-9-3) and Saturday night against the No.5 UQTR Patriotes (16-3-1). Both games are set to start at 7:30pm.
The Gaels kicked off 2016 with a thrilling 4-3 upset win over nationally ranked UQTR last weekend.
Eric Ming's (Williamsville, Ont.) third period marker held up as the game winner for Queen's in the comeback. Two points for defenseman
Spencer Abraham (Campbellville, Ont.), a goal and an assist, gives him 17 on the season for the team lead.
Concordia started the calendar year at home with a 5-2 loss to UOIT. Phillippe Hudon scored his 10th goal of the season on the power play for the Stingers. The Gaels met Concordia in November this season, when
Kevin Bailie (Belleville, Ont.) recorded a shutout in the 4-0 victory for Queen's.
The Patriotes bounced back from their 4-3 loss to the Gaels with a 5-2 win against UOIT. Pierre-Olivier Morin and Guillaume Asselin both had four point nights for UQTR in the win. Asselin's 17 goals this season lead the OUA.
In addition to hosting a pair of games on the weekend, Queen's also plays a home game against the No.9 Carleton Ravens (13-5-0) on Tuesday, January 19. The Ravens split a pair of games last weekend at Lakehead, losing 3-2 before winning big 8-2 in a rematch.

Courtenay Jacklin (Regina) scored both goals in the shutout against the Mustangs. Four Gaels have notched two game winning goals this season, including Jacklin and team point leader
Katrina Manoukarakis (Scarborough, Ont.).
The Lions were shutout in their only game of 2016, falling 1-0 in overtime at Guelph. When York and Queen's met in the first week of the season, the Gaels won 2-1 at the Memorial Centre.
Nadia Larocca (Mississauga, Ont.) and Megan Ferrell (Barrie, Ont.) picked up goals in the victory.
Caitlyn Lahonen (Saskatoon, Sask.) had a great first half of the season for Queen's between the pipes, starting every game for the Gaels. The fifth year netminder kicks off 2016 with an OUA best .967 save percentage.
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL| RECORD: 6-1 | Last time out: W 84-69 @ Waterloo | STREAK: Won 2 |
| WHO'S HOT?: Abby Dixon - Put up a 16 point, 10 rebound double-double when the Gaels won at Waterloo |
The No. 10 Queen's women's basketball team (6-1) returns to action with a pair of 6pm games on the road against the Toronto Varsity Blues (3-4) Friday and the No.2 Ryerson Rams (5-1) Saturday.
The Gaels closed out 2015 with a pair of road wins against Laurier and Waterloo. In both games, Queen's was led by double-double performances.
Robyn Pearson (Toronto) grabbed 13 rebounds and 12 points in the 64-61 victory against the Golden Hawks, and
Abby Dixon (North Vancouver) netted 16 points and 10 rebounds when the Gaels beat the Warriors 84-69.
Toronto is chasing Ryerson and Queen's in the OUA East, as they sit in third place in the division. Last weekend, the Varsity Blues won 75-61 at home against division rivals York. The last time the Gaels squared off with Toronto was in the 2014-15 season, when Queen's swept the season meetings with a pair of wins.
The Rams sit second to Queen's in the OUA East with a game in hand. Ryerson dominated their 2015 schedule, their only loss coming against Windsor. The Gaels have yet to cross paths with the Rams this season, but last year's 69-60 playoff loss to Ryerson is still fresh.
MEN'S BASKETBALL| RECORD: 6-1 | Last time out: L 70-61 vs. McGill (Exhibition) | STREAK: Won 3 |
| WHO'S HOT?: Sukhpreet Singh - Set a new personal best for points in a single game with 33 in 86-81 win at Waterloo |
The Queen's men's basketball team (6-1) hits the road with a pair of games to start their 2016 schedule. The Gaels play the Toronto Varsity Blues (2-4) on Friday before battling the No.5 Ryerson Rams (4-1) on Saturday, with both games set to start at 8pm.
After beating Laurier 81-74 and Waterloo 86-81 before the break, Queen's hosted No.2 McGill in an exhibition game last weekend and lost 70-61. The Gaels only loss of the season came at home against No.6 McMaster. Queen's is off to the program's best start, and is undefeated on the road so far.
Toronto sits at the bottom of the OUA East, but started 2016 with a 72-70 win against division rival York. The Gaels split their meetings with Toronto last year, with each team winning at home. Queen's won 82-74 last January before the Varsity Blues bested the Gaels 87-79 in the final game of the 2014-15 regular season.
Ryerson is holding down second place in the OUA East ahead of York and Toronto, and has two games in hand on first place Queen's. The Rams played their last game on November 20, when they beat Western 92-64. Before playing a Gaels squad they beat twice last year, Ryerson can increase their second place cushion in the OUA East on Wednesday when they host York.
MEN'S VOLLEYBALL| RECORD: 8-2 | Last time out: W 3-2 vs. Waterloo | STREAK: Won 1 |
| WHO'S HOT?: Mike Tomlinson - Hit 20 kills and made five blocks when the Gaels beat Waterloo |
The No.8 Gaels men's volleyball team (8-2) returns to the court on the road against the No.1 McMaster Marauders (11-0) on Friday at 8pm.
Queen's lost 3-0 to McMaster and topped Waterloo 3-2 in the last weekend play in November.
Mike Tomlinson (Stratford, Ont.) smashed a game high 20 kills in the win against Waterloo. The Gaels also played in the Waterloo Invitational tournament over the break, where they beat Dalhousie 3-2 before losing 3-1 to both Winnipeg and the host Warriors.
The Marauders went undefeated through 11 games in 2015, needing more than three sets to finish their opponents only in their first game against Waterloo. McMaster came out strong in their last meeting with the Gaels, winning the first set 25-13. Queen's responded well in the subsequent sets, narrowing the gap to 25-21 and 25-23.

| WHO'S HOT?: Shannon Neville - Second in the OUA in with 110 kills and third in the OUA with 138 digs |
The Gaels women's volleyball team (5-5) is back in action on Friday at 7pm with a road game against the Lakehead Thunderwolves (4-6).
Queen's fell in straight sets to No.7 McMaster before rebounding for a 3-1 win at home versus Waterloo to end 2015 at .500. In the win,
Shannon Neville (North Vancouver) and
Caroline Livingston (Kelowna, BC) recorded 12 kills apiece.
After their performance in the first half of the season, Lakehead is fifth in the OUA West, while Queen's is faring marginally better in the OUA East, sitting in fourth. Seven of Lakehead's 10 games have only required three sets, including their most recent game, a 3-0 loss to Ottawa back in November. When the teams met during the 2014-15 season, the Gaels also blanked Lakehead 3-0.
