GAME FLOW
The Centennial Colts opened up the scoring in the first half with a strike from the right side of the 18 yard box by Guedei Korei Djimi. It didn't take long for the Gaels to answer back as Brian Jimenez-Lopez scored off of a corner kick to even the game at 1-1.

Brevin Mackay finished off the scoring for the Gaels with a chip shot over the goalkeeper with 15 minutes left in the game. Kyle Lazinger got the start for Queen's surrendering one goal while Brad Carruthers saw action for Queen's as well.

FINAL SAY?
"This was an opportunity for some of the new guys coming into camp to execute what we've been discussing over the past week," said Coach Hoefler after the win. "Some of the guys didn't travel to the Old Four tournament so they were fresh while the guys who did travel took a break today. It comes down to these players having a lot of passion and pride and you saw it in the first half with those nerves that come with being a freshman. I give credit to Centennial they were a very fast high intensity side. Once we settled down and put one in we believed in our ability as a unit and came together."

By the Numbers:
3 – Number of goals scored by Brian Jimenez-Lopez
6 – Minutes it took for the Gaels to score three goals to start the second half
5 – Number of days until the Gaels season opener at Carleton

Up next for the Gaels is there final exhibition game against University of Ottawa on Thursday August 27th at 6:30pm. This will be the Gaels last pre-season match before they head off to Ottawa this weekend to open the season against the Carleton Ravens on Sunday August 30th.
