The Gaels sit in 6th place in the OUA East division heading into the weekend with an 8-4-0 record thus far and will be looking to pick up some points against opponents in the Western division. Queen's is coming off a tough 3-2 loss to the then No.2 ranked McGill Redmen last weekend in their lone game of action. The Gaels found themselves out in front 2-1 thanks to a pair of goals from Eric Ming (Williamstown, Ont.) both of which came on the power play. The second found its way to the back of the net at the 10:06 mark of the third period giving the Gaels the edge late. The lead was short lived however as David Rose responded with a power play goal of his own just 5:06 later to even the score at 2-2. Just as the game appeared to be headed to overtime it was Rose again with his second of the game with just 50 seconds left in the period to hand Queen's a defeat.

Toronto enters the weekend with a 6-7-2 record while Ryerson stands with a mark of 7-8-0 on the season. The Varsity Blues were able to skate away with a pair of wins at Lakehead last weekend with a 5-4 shootout win followed up by a 6-5 overtime victory. The trio of Patrick Marsh, Christian Finch and Matt Campagna combined for eight goals and nine assists over the two games against the Thunderwolves. The Rams, who will start their weekend with a visit to UOIT on Friday night, suffered a pair of losses last weekend first at home to Laurier 3-1 and on the road at Waterloo 3-0. Ryerson has fired 560 shots on goal so far this season which ranks fifth in OUA this season so the Gaels can expect their goaltender to be busy.

For Queen's they continue to be one of the best defensive teams not only the OUA conference but the country as well. The Gaels 28 goals allowed is the top mark in the OUA and CIS, they have allowed just seven power play goals on the season ranking 1st (tie) in the OUA and third in the CIS, have the second best save percentage (sv%) in the country at 0.929 and the fifth best goals against average (GAA) in CIS play with a 2.35 mark.

Gaels goaltender Kevin Bailie has been outstanding between the pipes for Queen's as he leads the nation in GAA (1.79) and sv% (.946).
