Gaels This Week – Basketball hosts Marauders in Games of the Week Friday night at 6/8pm
GAMES OF THE WEEK WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
#15 Robyn PearsonThe women's basketball team (3-0) will be hosting the No. 4 McMaster Marauders (3-1) in the Game of the Week Friday night and will also be hosting the No. 7 Brock Badgers (1-1) Saturday night with both games being played in the Main Gym of the ARC with the tip offs set for 6:00pm.
Last weekend the Gaels were on the road as they traveled to Northern Ontario to take on Laurentian Friday and Nipissing on Saturday. Against Laurentian fifth year wing
Jenny Wright (Kingston, Ont.) shot just under 50% from the field (8-17), while
Robyn Pearson tallied a formidable 18 rebounds, easily the highest total on the glass between both teams. Pearson, a fourth-year Toronto native, added seven points, while
Emily Hazlett (Fredericton, N.B.) and
Abby Dixon (North Vancouver, B.C.) netted nine points each to help the Gaels remain undefeated early in the conference schedule. On Saturday, Pearson recorded a game-high 18 points, shooting an impressive 8-of-14 from the field, and added 12 rebounds to earn a double-double.
Andrea Priamo (Guelph, Ont.) and
Marianne Alarie (Sudbury, Ont.) each added 10 points for the Gaels, who shot 41.9% (26-62) overall and outrebounded the Lakers 33-29.
McMaster comes into this weekend with a 3-1 record. The Marauders three wins came against Brock, Algoma and Toronto while their only loss so far was against the undefeated Ryerson Rams. Last season the Gaels only played the Marauders once during the regular season where McMaster won by a big margin 74-45. Last season the Badgers and Gaels met once in Brock where the Badgers came away with a 73-64 victory.

MEN'S BASKETBALL
#7 Sukhpreet SinghThe men's basketball team (3-0) will be hosting the No.9 McMaster Marauders (2-2) in the Game of the Week Friday night and will also be hosting the No. 4 Brock Badgers (2-0) Saturday night with both games being played in the Main Gym of the ARC with the tip offs set for 8:00pm.Last weekend the Gaels were on the road as they travelled to Northern Ontario to take on Laurentian Friday and Nipissing on Saturday. Against Laurentian Sukhpreet Singh (Toronto) sunk six field goals and was 75% (9-12) from the free-throw line. Ryall Stroud (Toronto) recorded 11 points on 4-of-6 shooting in just 18 minutes of game-time while Patrick Street (Etobicoke, Ont.) picked up 14 points for Queen's, who shot 33.3% (21-63) overall on the night. The Gaels came away with a one point victory over the Voyageurs 69-68. On Saturday against Nipissing the Gaels were led by fourth-year guard Mark Paclibar (Minesing, Ont.), who recorded a game-high 16 points. Singh also added 14 points in the win. Tanner Graham (Kingston, Ont.) and Mike Shoveller (Arnprior, Ont.) each tallied 11 points for Queen's who shot 45.8% as a team. The Gaels came away with a 69-57 win over the Lakers.McMaster is currently 2-2 on the season with their two wins coming against Algoma and Toronto and two losses against Brock and the undefeated Ryerson. Last season the Gaels only played the Marauders once during the regular season where McMaster won convincingly 71-49. Brock comes into this weekend with a perfect 2-0 record to open the season with wins against McMaster and Algoma. Last season the Badgers and Gaels met once in Brock where the game went into overtime with the Badgers coming away with a 98-89 victory.Queen's guard Sukhpreet Singh ranks in the top ten scoring in the OUA with 19 PPG.
MEN'S HOCKEY
#30 Kevin BailieThe men's hockey team (7-2-0) will be on the road this weekend as they travel to London Thursday night to take on the No.8 Western Mustangs (9-2-0) with the puck drop set for 7pm. On Friday the Gaels will continue their mini road trip as they travel to Guelph to take on the Gryphons (6-5-0) with the puck drop set for 7:30pm.
Last weekend the Gaels hosted the Concordia Stingers in their only game of the week. Queen's came away a 4-0 shutout victory over Concordia.
Kevin Bailie (Belleville, Ont.) earned his second shutout on the season for the Gaels. Shawn Boudrea (Kentville, N.S.) led the Gaels offence with two goals while also adding an assist for a total of three points in the win.
The Western Mustangs come into this game sitting in first place in the West Division with a 9-2 record. The Mustangs are currently on a two game winning streak with back to back wins over Lakehead last weekend. Last season the Gaels and Mustangs met once where Western won 4-1 at the Memorial Centre. The Guelph Gryphons come into this weekend with a 6-5 record which places them fifth in the West Division. The Gaels and Gryphons met once during the 2014-15 regular season where Queen's won 3-2 in a thrilling second overtime.

Kevin Bailie currently ranks first overall in the CIS with a 1.44 GAA and .954 Save Percentage.
WOMEN'S HOCKEY
#27 Katrina ManoukarakisThe women's hockey team (6-1-1-1) will be hosting the Windsor Lancers (0-1-6-1) Friday night and will also be hosting the No. 5 Western Mustangs (6-0-3-0) Saturday night with both games being played at the Memorial Centre with both puck drops set for 7:30pm.
Last weekend the Queen's was on the road in Oshawa taking on the UOIT Ridgebacks Saturday afternoon. The Gaels came away with a 5-1 win at UOIT;
Katrina Manoukarakis (Scarborough, Ont.) led the team as she scored two goals.
Amber Sealey (Elora, Ont.) also chipped in with two assists while Queen's goaltender
Caitlyn Lahonen (Saskatoon, Sask.) picked up here seventh win on the season.
The Windsor Lancers come into this game with an 0-1-6-1 record which puts them at the bottom of the OUA standings. The Lancers lost their first six games of the season before picking up their only win at home against York in overtime. Last season the Gaels and Lancers met twice during the season, Queen's won both of their home and away meetings. The No. 5 Western Mustangs come into this weekend with a 6-0-3-0 record which places them fifth in the OUA standings. The Mustangs are currently riding a three game winning streak. During the current streak they have outscored their opponents 12-1. Last year the Gaels and Mustangs met twice with both teams splitting the season series a win a piece.

Katrina Manoukarakis currently has 10 points in nine games played which is tied for third best in the OUA, her three power-play goals and two game-winning goals rank first in the OUA.
MEN'S VOLLEYBALL
#9 Marko DakicThe men's volleyball team (6-1) will be hosting the Guelph Gryphons (1-5) Saturday afternoon in the Main Gym of the ARC with the tip off set for 3pm.
Last weekend the Gaels were on the road in Southern Ontario taking on the Windsor Lancers on Saturday and Western Mustangs on Sunday afternoon. Saturday the Gaels came away with a 3-1 (25-21, 25-21, 25-27, 25-21) win against the Lancers,
Matt Golas (Toronto) and
Zac Hutcheson (Kingston, Ont.) led the Gaels attack with 13 kills each. On Sunday the Gaels won in straight sets (25-19, 26-24, 25-18) against the Mustangs.
Marko Dakic (Mississauga, Ont.) finished with 16 kills while setter
Jamie Wright (Kingston, Ont.) recorded 35 assists in the win.
The Guelph Gryphons come into this weekend with a 1-5 record which places them near the bottom of the OUA standings in ninth. The Gryphons only win on the season came at home against Windsor, since then they have lost two consecutive games on the road against Waterloo and York. Last year the Gaels and Gryphons met once during the regular season where Queen's won in straight sets (25-17, 25-18, 25-23).
The Gaels are currently riding a five game win streak. Outside Hitter
Marko Dakic currently leads the OUA with 4.41 kills per set and points per set. Dakic ranks third overall in the OUA with 97 kills.
WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL
#6 Shannon NevilleThe women's volleyball team (3-4) will be hosting the Guelph Gryphons (3-3) Saturday afternoon in the Main Gym of the ARC with the tip off set for 1pm.
Last weekend the Gaels were on the road in Southern Ontario taking on the Windsor Lancers on Saturday and Western Mustangs on Sunday afternoon. Saturday the Gaels lost a five set matchup against the Lancers (21-25, 23-25, 25-22, 25-20, 13-15).
Shannon Neville (Cambridge, Ont.) led the Gaels with 19 kills and three service aces. On Sunday the Gaels won a five set matchup against the Mustangs (27-25, 27-29, 25-20, 25-14, 15-8). Neville once again led the team with another 19 kills recorded while also contributing with 16 digs. Setter
Danielle Blumentrath (Burlington, Ont.) recorded 49 assists in the victory over Western.
The Guelph Gryphons come into this matchup with an even 3-3 record on the season which places them fourth in the OUA West Division. The Gryphons have yet to win or lose back to back games this season. The Gaels and Gryphons met once last year in the final game of the 2014-15 regular season, Queen's lost in five sets (22-25, 30-28, 25-20, 13-15, 7-15).

Shannon Neville is currently second in the OUA with 79 kills recorded and kills per set. Her 99 digs also ranks third best in the league.
