WATERLOO, Ont. (September 26, 2014) - The men's volleyball team was in Waterloo for a pair of exhibition matches against the Warriors this weekend. Queen's lost the first match 3-2 and fell on Saturday 3-1.
Day 2: Queen's vs WaterlooWaterloo held up in the Saturday afternoon rematch after the Gaels lost in a fifth set Friday evening. The Queen's squad took the first set 25-22 before dropping three straight sets to the Warriors, sets two, three and four being 25-16, 25-20 and 26-24 respectively.

Will Hoey (Brampton, Ont.),
Philippe Goyer (Ottawa, Ont.). Trence and Wright also subbed in throughout the four sets.
Queen's took the first set with a convincing lead midway through and onwards, with Waterloo responding by dominating the second set. The third set was back and forth until Waterloo pulled away in the middle. Finally, Queen's started an early lead, but were unable to hold on in the fourth set, very nearly coming back to be tied late in the game.
The Gaels play again Friday, October the 10
th in New Brunswick. Â
Day 1: Queen's vs WaterlooQueen's started their exhibition play in Waterloo on Friday night, falling in five sets to the Warriors, 25-21, 20-25, 23-25, 25-21, 15-13.

Mike Tomlinson (Stratford, Ont.) and
Thomas Ellison (Winnipeg) subbing in for the first set.Â
After Waterloo won the first set, Queen's battled back to take a momentary lead in the match, winning the second and third sets 25-20 and 25-23, respectively, to go ahead 2-1. The Warriors recovered in the fourth set, thanks to clutch serving from Jordan Dyck, to force the fifth set tie-breaker. In the fifth set, the Warriors led the entire way, winning the set 15-13 to capture the victory.
Queen's changed the lineup in sets four and five, with rookie Dylan Hunt (Newmarket, Ont.) starting on the court.
The Gaels and Warriors play again on Saturday.
