Gaels draw Concordia 2-2

KINGSTON, Ont. (August 27, 2014) - The Queen's Gaels men's soccer team scored in the 90th minute to earn a 2-2 draw with the Concordia Stingers at Miklas-McCarney field on Wednesday night.

Karim Haram opened the scoring for the Stingers in the 29th minute of the first half. Concordia fired three shots to the Gaels two to open the open the game.

The second half saw a lot more action with Queen's registering seven shots on goal and Concordia adding another three. Queen's drew even with the Stingers when Henry Bloemen (Toronto) fed a through ball up to Eric Koskins (Richmond Hill, Ont.) who made no mistake picking a good spot in the far off corner of the net for the goal in the 70th minute.

Concordia was quick to respond as Matt Deziak struck in the 73rd minute to give Concordia the advantage once more.

In the dying minutes Queen's continued to put the pressure on the Concordia defenders, Chris Wellsman (Victoria) evened the score off a pass that fooled the Concordia defenders to give the Gaels a 2-2 draw. Taylor Reynolds (Kingston, Ont.) got the start for Queen's and finished with four saves for the win.

Queen's will now move on to their regular season OUA schedule as they visit RMC this Sunday.
